Torch Launches Intuitive AR Development Tool with Sketchfab Support

Back to overview

Some exciting news to share today for mobile designers and marketers (some 4-5 million people by Torch’s estimation) interested in stepping beyond 2D interfaces and quickly prototyping Augmented Reality experiences.

Launching today, the Torch app for iOS has been built from the ground up to be as intuitive as possible for individuals and collaborators who may have some experience working in 2D design but might feel intimidated by working with 3D. Working directly in AR, Torch’s drag and drop interface lets you and your team quickly and easily pull assets into the world in front of you and set up interactivity.

And we’re pleased to announce that Torch is launching out of the gate with direct support for browsing, adding, and attributing Creative Commons models from Sketchfab right within the Torch interface thanks to our Download API. Given the aim of the app is to let designers create quality work quickly, it’s the perfect fit for access to a library of hundreds of thousands of pre-made 3D models from our community and gels nicely with Sketchfab’s aim to get 3D content into the hands of as many people as possible as easily as possible.

To learn more about the app, visit the Torch website or visit the Apple App Store and download it today. If you’re interested in learning more about the opportunities made possible by our Download API, be sure to check out our documentation, and check out other examples of Sketchfab integration.

Any tip on how we can make sure the Models by default load in the “real size” when an App like Torch use it?
