Virtual reality art tools like Google Tilt Brush, Oculus Medium and Quill, Kingspray, VoxVR and others have been getting a lot of traction lately. Made for both professionals and amateurs alike, these tools enable you to create amazing art in 3D space, more specifically: in virtual reality. To get these awesome tools into the hands of more artists, we’ve created Sketchfab #VRiday to democratize the 3D creation process and open the door for talented artists to create amazing virtual reality work.
Last week, we invited a few local NYC artists for our inaugural Sketchfab #VRiday virtual reality art night. Our goal is to make #VRiday a staple in the NYC art and virtual reality community, and to continue to enable artists to create great work. We’d also like to expand this event beyond NYC in the near future, so stay tuned.
Below, we have showcased some of the pieces created during our last event. We’ve also included a link to apply for a chance to join us at our next #VRiday, so if you are an artist in or around NYC, fill out the form below and we will contact you if you’ve been selected. Don’t be discouraged if you are not chosen immediately, since we do have a lot of applications and can only accommodate a small number in a given night. We plan to host these events on monthly basis, so if you are not chosen this time around, you should continue to apply and you may just make it into next month’s lineup.
